What is this magical place??
Oh it’s Tumblr!
Well I had better introduce my self.
Hi my name is Laura
I have a YouTube account “Princessdianafriend” and a voeh account “Princessdianaislove” where I upload old/rare documentaries of Diana and the royals
I am 23 years old royalist, I have followed the British royal family for the past ten years.
I first became interested in the royals after the death of princess Diana. I was 9 years old when she died and I remember watching the funeral and not understanding why people were so up set. So I watched the news specials on Diana and her work with the British red cross and how she had tried to do some good in the world and I “got it. In fact I became fascinated with Diana’s story, the teenage girl who married a Prince and redefined what it is to be a Princess.
But I didn’t really get interested in the royal family till 2002 when Paul Burrell was charged with stealing some of Diana possessions. it was a huge story in the UK and you really had to have been there to understand it. Everyday more and more insane theories were going round as to why Burrell had some of Diana stuff. Did he steal them? Did Diana have some thing to hide? Could what ever Burrell have damage the Monarchy? and then, out of no where the Queen her self, gave evidence and said the Burrell had told her about the items he had took and then the trial collapsed
That was when I really got interested in the Monarchy, not the flashy PR stuff but the inner workings. I don’t so much want to know about the Queen as much as who advisers her. That’s what my Tumblr is about, looking past the PR and finding the substance of the royals. What do they do? are they worth the money Tax payers have to give them? and what is their role going to be in an increasingly modern world where social class and protocol is becoming less important.
In between answering these questions I will upload rare pictures from my collection for you all to enjoy and I will also let you know when I have uploaded anything new to Youtube or Voeh. Well I think that’s it. Let’s see what grows from this little seed.
