point of correction for why coronation was filmed. I am currently researching churchill so i am abit of a know it all right now. He didn't want it filmed. Mystique of the ceremony and all that. It was Prince Philip who suggested it and was strongly for it as a way to bring the people closer to this milestone. HM went with DoE. Most of the establishment at the time thought it would be disastrous to film it. Churchill included. The warm reception was a complete surprise to them all.
